Tag: 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty

Tag time! To be honest, when I watched this tag was spreading around in YouTube, I had no idea of what 7 deadly sins is! And I still don’t know what it is! Anyway, I think it is so fun to do the tag and here are my 7 deadly sins of beauty!

1. GREED:

What is your most inexpensive beauty item?

It is Maybelline Eye Studio 2-in-1 impact shadow liner that I got it in brown. I bought it for HKD 25 in a big sales in a local drugstore, Watsons.

What is your most expensive?

It will be my Christian Dior 5 Couleurs palette in 554 Couture Gold. I bough it for HKD 450 on my birthday as a present and reward to myself.

2. WRATH:

What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

It will be this MAC mineralize eyeshadow, Shimmermint from Glitter and Ice collection. I absolutely love this unique minty blue shimmery color but it just doesn’t have a good color payoff and it has fall-outs. I have to use a damp brush to get the product on and apply it on my eyelid but still doesn’t show enough color.

What product has been the hardest to get?

I remember I had been surfing the internet for so long to look for this Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette. Finally, I found there is a online seller in Hong Kong who sells most of the products from Coastal Scents. And I made the ‘blind date’ trade in an MTR station.

3. GLUTTONY:

What are your most delicious beauty products?

Hands down! EOS lip balm in Strawberry Sorbet is the most delicious beauty product in the world! It just smells so good that I want to eat it every time when I apply it on my lips!

4. SLOTH:

What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

I really don’t know which beauty product I would neglect due to laziness. If I have to say one, it would be face primer. Since I don’t have problem with my makeup staying on, I don’t really need a primer. But I do have one that I can use, I just don’t need it.

5. PRIDE:

What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

I would say false eyelashes gives me the most confidence out of all makeup items I own. Because I really like a defined and awaken eyes, false eyelashes just make my eyes look bigger and prettier.

6. LUST:

What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

I like boys have a clean and neat face and hair. I don’t mean I don’t like them with beard or something, sometimes a little bit beard can be sexy but I just prefer a cleaner, prettier face!

7. ENVY:

What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

Definitely Sigma brushes! I want to buy them so much but I can’t find any in where I live. I can buy it in Hong Kong or even online but they are expensive and take time to get. And I already own those brushes I need that I don’t need more. If someone is that kind and would like to give me a Sigma brush kit, I would be so grateful!

Makeup 101: Foundation Part 2 – Powder Foundation

To have a lovely and flawless complexion, it is essential to apply powder foundation after liquid foundation(please click here for liquid foundation post). Powder foundation are in two forms generally, either pressed powder on a pan or loose powder. They both can beautify and finish a makeup look to keep it last longer and avoid oiliness on your face.

What is pressed powder and loose powder?

Pressed powder gives a little bit coverage and color on the face. That is being said, they have a color range for you to choose which suits you most. It is convenient to carry around and touch up.

Loose powder usually has a more natural finish since its powder is finer than a pressed one. And most of them are translucent which doesn’t add any color.

Who needs powder foundation?

Generally, powder foundation is for everyone because it works as a finish product to keep your makeup longlasting. But it works perfect for oily skin since it absorbs the excess oil and keep you away from looking shine and oily. And it is also good for people who wear makeup for long hours. If you have dry skin, you might not need it.

How to apply?

It depends on where you need to apply. For finishing makeup, take a fluffy brush and get a gentle amount, then buff on your face. For just blotting oil, you can just apply on those area where is shiny, such as T-zone.
